On March 21, 2012 we departed from Edelweiss Lodge & Resort and hit the road bound for a new country - The Czech Republic!
It was a decent drive, 4-5 hours, but it went well. We found our hotel (we actually rented an apartment for our 3 night stay) and let the baby stretch out. We didn't explore the first day, and hit the ground running our first full day.

We decided to go to the farthest places that day and ventured out across the river on Charles Bridge and headed for The Prague Castle & St. Vitus Cathedral. By the time we got all the way out here, we were getting hungry, the baby ancy, and therewere people everywhere... Plus all the stairs didn't make this part of the day very much fun - but the view from the top was worth it!

En route, we detoured to see this famous wall: The John Lennon Wall, a wall that artists have painted over and over again for years, it continuously changing. It was fun to see, and very colorful!

On our way down, the baby fell asleep buying us more time in the city, so we headed for lunch at The Hard Rock Cafe!

[Yes, yes, we're
such Americans, but while I've never been to the one in Atlanta or Chicago (and I've lived near both), I have visited the ones in Orlando, Amsterdam, Toronto, Prague, and London... and have since started a collection to prove it.]
That night, the boys took us to a Czech brewery and we all tasted a locally made Czech beer. It was delicious!

The next day, we explored The Old Town Square. This was my favorite part of Prague! It was just so beautiful, and they were setting up the Easter Market, which opened the next day!
The main sight here is the Astronomical Tower.

We also paid to go up the tower and take in the views from the top of the tower. There were lots of cool buildings to see, but I don't remember what they're called....

Then we wandered and found this gorgeous building:

| The National Museum |
We also went to the Jewish Quarter.

Before leaving on Saturday March 24, we walked through the Easter Market in Old Town Square and purchased some traditional hand painted eggs. In Europe, they decorate trees and bushes with blown & painted eggs as ornaments, similar to the way we decorate Christmas trees.

And just because this is the coolest picture taken by Richard during this trip:
